Safety Audits
The purpose of a safety audit is to review administrative and operational safety issues in the workplace, and covers worker, front-line supervision and senior management perspectives. It is important to recognize that safety audits provide very positive inputs to workplace safety, where the object is to identify areas where safety could be improved rather than place blame.
Companies receive a confidential written report as part of the audit, with recommendations focused on preventing accidents or incidents that may result in personal injury or property damage. Whether or not a safety program is in place, all employers may take advantage of these recommendations in avoiding potential problem areas before they become major and costly events.
Depending on the size of the company, safety audits can take from 1/2 to a full day, with a wide range of support available from the C6 Safety Association in implementing recommended safety related actions.
Lifting and Back Problems
Most of us don’t think about our backs until we have back pain, and often we believe it is the result of an accident, and that the problem can be fixed if we seek professional treatment. The fact is, most back pain is caused by the cumulative effects of our day-to-day activities, with 85 percent of adults in North America suffering from back pain at some point in their lives. Prevention is the key here, and C6 can facilitate a program to meet your needs. Back strain and back injuries are the number one claim on the WCB books, as well as one of the most costly.
Ergonomics
Work smarter, not harder. Ergonomics is fitting the job to the person through design of equipment, procedures, and environment. Call C6 to set up a meeting to discuss your needs in this area.
